Fundamentals

The reason for the Fundamentals Page is to establish basic rules for career focus and for how to go about earning the marketable skills (through the right kind of education, etc.) in order to put those of us on the autism spectrum, as well as those outside of it, in the best possible position to be productive elements of society.

  Pursue Opportunity

Instead of following your passion, follow opportunity instead, and bring your passion with you.

So You Don’t Know What to Do

That is okay.  It is also all the more reason to focus on marketable skills until you eventually figure out what to do.

Why Marketable Skills Are So Important

Those of us on the Autism spectrum are already soft skills-challenged.  This is all the more reason to focus on our hard skills as a way to establish a career.

Passion for Science vs. Opportunity

Pursuing a career in the hard sciences is a more difficult proposition than one would first consider, even for those of us who innately love science.

Success Takes Time

A whole new set of challenges shall arise even after you graduate from college with a marketable degree.

Tools to Explore Opportunity

Ask yourself some key questions before trying to enter an industry or line of work.

Potential Problems with Following Your Passion

Consider these cautionary tales as a reminder that it’s better to pursue opportunity instead.
